Nissan has not marketed hybrid plans to Indonesia. PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia (NMI) has not been planning to hold a petrol engine cars and electric (hybrid) in Indonesia.

The reason, the price of the vehicle is expensive and there is no market that are interested in buying a hybrid car.

Even so, Nissan responded positively to the government's plans in the provision of intensive hybrid car to car manufacturers in Indonesia.

"Hybrid cars are not cheap and if anyone wants to buy it even if it is fuel efficient cars? Buyers Indonesia is an important economical price," said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Director of PT. NMI Teddy Irawan recently.

Teddy says Nissansudah have a model-based electric car that Nissan Leaf is currently sold in the U.S., Europe and Japan with a price of around 4 million yen, or around Rp. 500 million - Rp. 600 million.

NMI currently has no plans to market Nissan models Nissan Leaf Leaf in Indonesia even before they hit the markets in Southeast Asia.

"The price that Nissan Leaf in Indonesia vary depending on many factors such as government policies, taxes and customs duties, etc.," he said.

Teddy is also proposed to support hybrid cars in Indonesia, must first be ready infrastructure like charging stations.

He also suggested the government set up the infrastructure such as SPBG if you want to promote the use of CNG as a fuel substitute.

"Are people willing to switch if the CNG filling stations in Jakarta only 5-6 units?. Hence, the government must prepare the infrastructure first," he said.
